Sevilla: Part 1

Hello!!  This post will discuss the first part of my time in Sevilla! This past Friday, our day started out very early, when our group of Kelley, Elle, Jennifer, Elma, Daria and I met up at 6:45am to take a bus to the Granada bus station.  Then, we bused from Granada to Sevilla from 8 to 11am!  Since we wanted this time slot, we had to pay a little extra for "supra" economy, which meant that we got goody bags of snacks when we got on the bus, and we had a little extra room!  It was also funny because all of us wanted window seats, so we sat in one long row along one side of the bus!!

I thoroughly love these landscapes!  Before I came to Spain, I honestly expected there to be way less rural land than in the United States, but there is actually about the same amount of open land.

After a smooth bus ride, we arrived in Sevilla and started to orient ourselves in the city.  While we had directions to the hostel, finding our hostel was a little difficult, since the city was strategically designed to be very confusing so invading armies would get trapped in the city and not be able to escape.  However, we eventually found where we needed to go and loved our hostel!  They even had a welcome sign for "Sarah and Friends" (since I was the one who registered for the hostel)!

After we got situated at the hostel, it was time to do some exploring! Sevilla is absolutely gorgeous! We explored a little bit and found this epic garden/park!

I love all of the recycling bins, especially this one which shows how the octopus suffers from people not properly disposing of their trash and recyclables.
Clearly, we are very mature. Good times on the train in the park!
Once a tree hugger, always a tree hugger!

We loved the park, but knew we had to keep moving because there was much to see! We continued walking towards the Catedral and Alcazar, but on the way ran into the University of Sevilla!

That concludes part 1 of Sevilla (as in I am ready to go to bed now, haha!) I will post about Sevilla's Alcazar and Catedral tomorrow, in addition to the Torre del Oro! (Tower of Gold!!)
